Hi nice people, so here is my idea:
Since Kamppi could give us such a projection I think the idea of bringing otherwise 'marginalized' people would be an important thing to do. Shine a light in this subject and raise the discussion about minorities, ethinic groups, homeless/beggars, elders. People who has/had a tough life in general.
My inspiration and model of work would be websites like
Humans of New York (HONY)
and
SPInvisivel
Humans in New York tries to trace a portrait of New Yorkers where they photograph someone anonymous and then there's an interview where this people reveals some details about his life, SPInvisivel is most based on homeless people who lives on the streets, the interesting aspect of both websites is that the story sometimes reveals a degree of humbleness and 'human wise' attitude that only people who have suffered might know (and of course this is a very generalized idea but just to make my intentions clear).
What we do?
We look for people, we interview them (probably record interview), tell their stories in the website, make a nice portrait to display in Kamppi
What we offer?
I think the project is relevant because in our busy lifes we don't really pay attention to these -invisible- people who are at the margin of society. Their stories, why are they there? Knowing and talking about these issues could be an interesting starting point to reflect about their lives (and ours), in a way to help these people and make a better society.
For the person interviewed the chance to not be invisible anymore, if this person needs help, if this person has some difficulties we could help them, a way to try to regain some self confidence and hope in general. Helping people who needs help.
How can we do it?
It's not very easy. Dealing with human beings can be a tricky (and hard) thing, I do expect rejection but if we find a way to make people trust us, tell them this could help in their lifes and be very gentle and concerned when taking the interviews it could work. My experience is that these people doesn't remember anymore how it is to have someone who is really listening to them, therefore the interviewed person should first trust us in order to speak about their lifes.
Why is this different from other projects?
Kamppi would give us such an opportunity to go from zero to thousand of views, probably echoing and creating a buzz around the subject as the facade display is a starting point leading to the website of these stories (that could be under Kamppi website). I would focus in the portraits, show their faces, who are these people that are part of our society but probably doesn't compound the big picture of Helsinki inhabitants but they're here. I don't intend to focus only on foreigners also, I would like to have stories of finnish people too.
In general that's my idea, I'm super open for collaboration and suggestions.
A second thing I would like to do is join any group/person interested in projections, light and spatial installations, well, anything more visual or abstract! :)

Great idea! This came to my mind (though its totally different concept): https://www.cordaid.org/en/news/story-behind-little-money-big-difference/
