Mielly, metsä,miehi'ini / Please, Forest, like our men

I am always interesting in the roots, in a key, where every human - being comes from; therefore I am so familiar with ethnic songs, myth, fairy tails, traditions and wisdom.
In this course I wanted to find not only interesting idea as a student of art, but also useful experience for myself and also for others.
At the beginning I was looking at the origin of Tapiola’s name and I found connection with a myth about forest god and ethnic choir in that area.
So, I think my intervention in Tapiola area started when I entered in the rehearsal class of Espoo Chameleon choir Uni-ryhmä.
I record two songs, which a lovely conductor Veera prepared special for my idea about Tapio - the  forest god in Finnish folklore. One of the song was joiking according Sami people tradition and other one was for the god Tapio, who was taken from the Kanteletar (a collection of Finnish folk poetry compiled by Elias Lönnrot). So, the joiku was a wonderful discovery in my spending time here in Finland and I was completely exited when the young girls’ choir were joiking and dancing around me and keep reminding the roots of sami culture. It doesn't matter that none of them hasn’t relations with sami traditions, but the fact that this spiritual, self-expressing and knowing way is used.
But I chose to edit and show song about Tapio, because I saw it was more interesting and fresh for performers themselves.
While the process was going on, I observed the young girls, their behavior in breaks, how lot of them are still vital, sincere, honest, innocent, absent – minded, playfully wild, and alive. I was really enjoyed in a collaboration with a choir, especially, when I saw the freedom, open – minded and trustful relations built between girls and teacher and that effects my video as well. I used some inserts with a red color, because I wanted to express the emotions of energy, speed, strength, passion for life and vitality, which I found during co-operation.
Afterwards, we tried to put my video in the Culture center of Tapiola through TV screen, but for technical inconsistencies and lack of  my time the video was without any sound. So, I had one more lesson from this situation: to take as much work as you can to manage and complete it till the end.
Then I decided to improve situation by putting video in the other object of the city. So I took my computer, headphones and asked a permission to show it in swimming pool, hotel, Stockman, but everywhere administration were busy, absent or with negatives answers. Okay, I got boring of this situation and kept idea that the life should be easier.
In the end I was exploring city center again and found comfortable outside table of the turkish cafe Escafe, the strong boss accepted my idea and let me show song outside for passers-by.

First lady passed with a big smile, leaving calm eye sight.
Then pause, people passing by without a big attention

Oh, one  Finnish couple are interested on the sound, they listened while were smoking and then came to talk with me and about strange but familiar music:)
then I mentioned quite shy guy, who after 10minutes dare to come and see video from the beginning till the end. Thanks for your patient!

Also I had very wired mimics from the passenger, who doesn't look very satisfied of my action, but I am leaving their problem to them:)

Finally, I confirm that this kind of intervention somehow challenge not only audience, but also creators as well and in the process of sharing I learn how precious is time, patient and responsibility.
Thank you for the lessons:)
